FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST EUCHARIST

HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

Welcome to Sacramental Preparation at Holy Redeemer! The time you and your child spend together preparing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist is a special time in the life of your family. Sacramental preparation is one of the very best ways to be involved in your child’s faith-life, and you will find yourself learning with and from your child as well.

Preparing for First Sacraments is a family affair, and our program reflects that.   Parents and children will work on a memory book at home, and will also attend five Generations of Faith sessions together. You may choose Tuesday evening with supper, or Saturday morning with breakfast.    In addition, we will have two parent-only meetings, two “kids’ afternoons,” and family retreats before First Reconciliation and before First Communion. Please see the schedule.

AGES: Children should be at least 7 years old when class begins, up to age 18 (second grade and up).  All children receive First Reconciliation before they receive their First Communion.
BAPTISM: If your child age 7-18 has not yet been baptized, he or she will enter the Children’s Catechumenate. Please fill out a registration form for these children as well.

FIRST RECONCILIATION SERVICE: Saturday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m.

FIRST COMMUNION SUNDAY is May 17, 2009, at the 10 o’clock Mass. 

FEE: For the year, $45 per child. Please make your check out to “Holy Redeemer Parish” and include with your registration form, or speak to Teresa Markgraf to make payment arrangements. Financial assistance is available.

How to REGISTER: Fill out the Registration Form and turn it in at the Parish Office. (In the mail slot is fine.) PLEASE REGISTER EARLY.
