¡Hola! Soy Heather Rojas, la maestra de español en la Escuela Santo Redentor. Tengo tres hijos, dos hijas que asisten a la escuela y un hijo de dos años. He estudiado el español en la secundaria, la universidad y en ITESM en México. Enseñé el español en Nebraska antes de que nos movimos a Portland. Mi familia y yo somos miembros de la Parroquía Santo Redentor y vivimos en el Norte de Portland.
Students will study the Spanish language through the four modalities - reading, writing, listening, and speaking. They will practice correct pronunciation of the sounds in the Spanish language. They will learn Spanish vocabulary through repeating words and phrases, listening to spoken Spanish, writing and reading words, performing movement and actions, and singing songs. Students will learn Spanish grammaar and punctuation at a graduated pace based on grade and skill level. Students will also gain an awareness of and an appreciation for the history, culture,and music of the Spanish-speaking world allowing them to better participate in an ever-changing global society with a significant and growing Spanish-speaking community.
