Holy Redeemer has been serving the North, Northeast Portland community since it opened its doors in 1908. We just celebrated our centennial year and begin our second 100 years with gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead.

At Holy Redeemer our staff is committed to educating our students for the future challenges that lie ahead for them. We have developed school-wide learning expectations to live and learn by. Our hope is that our graduates are faithful Christians, responsible citizens, life-long learners, self aware and globally aware, and effective communicators. In addition to strong core academics, we address the fine arts as well, offering music appreciation, physical education, technology, Spanish, art and the opportunity for private music lessons.

Our student body is most diverse in ethnic background as well as economic background. We celebrate this diversity in various ways developing pride and understanding among our students.

Holy Redeemer is an accredited school. Next year we will begin a new self-study in preparation for our accreditation team visit the fall of 2010. We are a dually accredited school through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and the Western Catholic Education Association. Both of these organizations have strong standards in which schools are to meet. Faculty and staff are well trained to work with our young people. Teachers are all certified through Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission and our school is registered with the State of Oregon.
