The Holy Redeemer Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society provides emergency assistance to families and individuals in our community. Its primary service is the Food Room which is open every Saturday afternoon in the basement of the church from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Conference members also respond to requests for emergency heating oil, utilities assistance and partial rent payments. On the second Friday of each month, they serve dinner to the homeless at the Downtown Chapel. Seasonal activities include providing food baskets at Christmas and the annual food drive. During the 2006 Christmas season, St. Vincent de Paul was able to provide $8000 of food to 80 families.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society welcomes any parishioner who would like to volunteer time to continue the work of serving the needs of our community. Meetings are held every Tuesday evening in the parish rectory.
Monthly second collections that directly support the efforts of St. Vincent de Paul occur on the third Sunday of every month.
