“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish a partnership of the whole life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of children; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a Sacrament.”

Couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage should contact a priest at least six months before their intended wedding date. Couples meet with a priest several times to prepare for the Sacrament, and also participate in an approved Pre-Cana program.
