Early Childhood Education
Preschool & Pre-K

Holy Redeemer’s Early Childhood Program encourages children to become creative community contributors, independent problem solvers, and excited learners. We embrace a holistic approach to curriculum that nurtures the whole child, supporting their physical, emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and spiritual development.

Our early childhood philosophy blends the best of play-based learning with intentional, structured experiences:

Play-Based Learning: We believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on exploration. Play allows them to experiment, imagine, collaborate, and discover at their own developmental pace. Through guided play centers, creative expression, outdoor exploration, and cooperative activities, children build foundational skills in language, problem-solving, and social interaction.

Structure-Based Learning: Alongside play, carefully designed routines and teacher-led instruction help children develop confidence, independence, and readiness for Kindergarten. Structured moments introduce early literacy, numeracy, and faith-based lessons in ways that are engaging, age-appropriate, and rooted in best practices for early childhood development.

Preschool and Pre-K students at Holy Redeemer also enjoy the arts and physical education through special classes in Art, Music, and PE. These experiences help children develop creativity, coordination, social skills, and confidence while exploring new ways to learn and express themselves. By combining these enriching opportunities with purposeful structure, our Early Childhood Program provides a warm, faith-filled environment where young learners feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow into their fullest potential.

Holy Redeemer's Early Childhood curriculum is grounded in a developmentally appropriate, faith-filled approach that honors the dignity and potential of every child. Designed using the strengths of The Creative Curriculum® and Learning Without Tears®, our program blends the creativity of play-based learning with purposeful, structured skill-building. Through The Creative Curriculum®, children engage in child-centered, hands-on exploration that encourages inquiry, problem-solving, creativity, and meaningful social-emotional growth. Learning centers, open-ended materials, and teacher-guided investigations allow children to learn at their own pace while developing curiosity, confidence, and independence. To support early academic readiness, Learning Without Tears® provides a multisensory, developmentally appropriate framework for handwriting, early literacy, and fine motor development, offering clear, engaging steps that strengthen foundational skills. By combining these two research-based approaches, we nurture the whole child—cognitively, socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and creatively—ensuring that each child feels safe, supported, and successful as a learner.
