THE ARTS

The Sisters of Holy Names, our foundresses, believed in the power of the arts. Every student in each grade participates in multiple classes a week in both visual arts and vocal music.

In addition to their regular Arts education, the Third Graders participate in the performing arts while they put on the annual “Portland Play.”

Fourth and Fifth Grade students participate in Strings Class in addition to their usual visual arts and vocal music. Each student is measured and fitted specifically for their own instrument and spends the year learning to play the violin.

We also offer optional group Choir and private music lessons in piano, cello, violin, and viola.
